The beginning of BONI business group was made in 1991, when its founder and major owner so far decided to transform his passion to meat processing and the gained professional experience into private entrepreneurship. Being professionally managed and strategically well positioned on the Bulgarian market, the new company quickly expanded its operations to become the biggest manufacturer of meat and meat products in Bulgaria in 1998.
At present BONI Group deals with manufacture of fodder, pig breeding and meat processing. It is the biggest producer of pigs and packed pork in Bulgaria. In addition to the meat processing center in Karlovo at the beginning of 2007 the new factory in Lovech was put in operation, in which by state-of-the-art European technologies will be manufactured salami and delicacies, as well as minced meat, ready-to-cook food and meat half-finished products. The technological capacities of that production unit are unique for Bulgaria to a certain extent. In the opinion of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is a project partner, the new factory of BONI is among the nine most modern factories in Europe. The factory in Karlovo was also completely modernized in 2006. That will help BONI Group to strenghten its position of a market leader for raw pork and raw dried delicacies and to expand its market share in any other categories of meat products.
